Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Digifi Me collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the http://modat.org website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Digifi Me.

 

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

When Users leave comments on the Site we collect the data shown in the comments form the User’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from the User’s email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if the User is using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of a User comment, User profile picture is visible to the public in the context of User’s comment.

 

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

 

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert User when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

If User leaves a comment on the Site User may opt-in to save name, email address and website in web browser cookies. These are for User convenience so that User does not have to fill in User details again when User leaves another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If User visits Site login page, Site will set a temporary cookie to determine if User browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when User closes their browser.

When User logs in, we will also set up several cookies to save User login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If User selects “Remember Me”, login will persist for two weeks. If User logs out of their account, the login cookies will be removed.

If User edits or publishes an article, an additional cookie will be saved in User’s browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article User edited. It expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the User has visited those websites.

Those websites may collect data about the User, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor User’s interaction with that embedded content, including tracking interaction with the embedded content if User has an account and are logged in to that website.

YouTube

The Site uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If User visits one of Sites pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here, the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages User has visited.

If User is logged in to their YouTube account, YouTube allows User to associate browsing behavior directly with User personal profile. User can prevent this by logging out of their YouTube account.

YouTube is used to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

Vimeo

The Site uses features provided by the Vimeo video portal. This service is provided by Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.

If User visits one of Site’s pages featuring a Vimeo plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. Here the Vimeo server is informed about which of our pages User visited. In addition, Vimeo will receive User IP address. This also applies if User is not logged in to Vimeo when User visits Site’s plugin or do not have a Vimeo account. The information is transmitted to a Vimeo server in the US, where it is stored.

If User is logged in to their Vimeo account, Vimeo allows User to associate browsing behavior directly with User’s personal profile. User can prevent this by logging out of their Vimeo account.

Google Web Fonts

For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When User opens a page, their browser loads the required web fonts into their browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the User’s browser has to establish a direct connection to Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that Service web page was accessed via User IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our plugin. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

If User browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by the User’s computer.

How long are User data retained

If User leaves a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For Users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

 

How we use collected information

Digifi Me may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

  • To improve customer service. Information User provides helps us respond to thier customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
  • To personalize user experience. We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.
  • To improve our Site. We may use feedback User provide to improve our products and services.
  • To run a promotion, contest, survey or other Site feature. To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
  • To send periodic emails and text messages. We may use the email address and/or the phone number to send User information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include organization news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

 

How we protect User information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of User’s personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

 

Sharing User’s personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

 

What rights does User have over their data

If the User has an account on this site, or has left comments, the User can request to receive an exported file of personal data we hold about the User, including any data the User has provided to us. User can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about User. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

 

Third party websites

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.

Digifi Me has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
