The San Diego Futures Foundation was founded in 1999 as a part of a collaboration between the County of San Diego and an alliance of high technology companies in the region. The purpose of the San Diego Futures Foundation is to help all San Diegans gain access to technology and online government services.
The Foundation operates programs across several categories to support the County. This includes offering discounted computers to individuals who qualify, and providing free Digital Literacy classes weekly at libraries and assorted venues throughout the County. The SD Futures Foundation also offers IT services and consulting to businesses and non-profit organizations, as well as a free e-recycling program for open to anyone’s electronic waste.
